Information and Advice Service

At Age Concern Bolton we want to make sure that older people can get hold of accurate and up-to-date information and advice, on a wide range of issues, that are important to them and their carers.  This allows them to make informed decisions and choices, based on reliable information.

Advice1

We can help with:

  • benefits queries and other money matters
  • health and social care issues
  • housing and transport queries
  • filling in forms, 
  • understanding documents
  • and much more.

The service is free, private and confidential and if we can’t help we can put you in touch with people who can.

Age Concern Bolton meets the requirements of the Community Legal Service Quality Mark Standard for General Help 

Our main Information and Advice service is available for in-person enquiries at our Ashburner Street Centre, as follows:

Monday – Friday
10.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.

Telephone help is available:

Monday – Friday
9.30 a.m. – 3.00 p.m.

The Pension Service

The Pension Service provides a dedicated advisory service for older people at our Ashburner Street Centre. This service provides advice and guidance on the following:

  • all social security benefits
  • carer enquiries
  • heating allowances
  • housing and council tax benefits
  • residential care
  • and more.

You will also get help with:

  • checking your benefits entitlement
  • completing and submitting claim forms.

This service is available, by appointment, on Tuesday and Thursday only between 1.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.  To book an appointment, please ring Eileen O’Rourke, Information and Advice Officer on 01204 382411.
