Time to Adjust Your Set… The Digital TV Switchover Date is Coming!
Digital TV Switchover is coming to the Granada TV region in 2009. But what does it mean for you? Do you have questions about the type of equipment you will need? Will your current TVs need converting? How will digital switchover affect aerials and recording programmes? What help is available to make the switch? What does it mean for radio?
Age Concern Bolton and Digital UK invite older people (50plus) to drop in to their Digital Switchover Open Day on Tuesday 11 March at the Walker Suite, Victoria Halls in Knowsley Street Bolton, where all these questions and more will be answered.
There will be three talks at 10.30 am; 12.30 pm and 3.00 pm and the rest of the day (between 10.00 and 4.30 pm) will be an open 'surgery' session so that you can put your own particular questions relating to digital TV switchover to the representatives from Digital UK.
The presentations and open session are free of charge. We regret that we are not able to advise on (or mend) faulty TV equipment as part of these sessions.
However, older people attending any one of the free sessions at the Victoria Halls will have a chance of winning a free Digital Set top box by registering their name and address in the week leading up to and including the 11th March. Simply go to Age Concern’s Café at Ashburner Street and leave your details at Reception in the box provided.
Digital UK is the not for profit organisation tasked with leading digital TV switchover and ensuring that people have the right information and equipment for when their region switches to digital TV.
