Volunteering Opportunities

We provide an extensive and imaginative range of services and activities to enable older people (50+) to make more of life. These include:

• a bustling town centre Café
• a network of lunch and leisure clubs across Bolton
• day centres 
• ageing well and related health promotion activities
• aromatherapy and reflexology services
• befriending, one to one support and telephone befriending services 
• walking clubs, keep fit classes and dances
• insurance services
• a choice of courses and activities in our purpose built Learning Centre.
• a new active ageing centre

To provide the above, we rely on the commitment and skills of our team of first class volunteers.

How YOU can help us

We need your help:

• to prepare and serve meals in our busy town centre café, local lunch and leisure clubs and in our Learning Centre snack bar in Farnworth
• to support older people to enjoy a healthy and active retirement 
• in our befriending, one to one support and telephone befriending services - to offer friendship and support to older people in their own homes
• to help us in our day centres for frailer older people
• as a driver or escort for our minibus
• to provide reception and administration services at our main centres
• to offer new learning opportunities for older people in our Learning Centre, by sharing your knowledge, skills or passion in a particular subject

and in many other aspects of our work!

Who can volunteer?

To join our team of volunteers, you must be:-

• able to spare a couple of hours each week, during the daytime or in the evening
• reliable and responsible
• committed to the well-being of older people.

For most of the volunteering opportunities available, you do not need formal qualifications or previous experience, as full training will be provided for you.
